A Relix Magazine "artist to watch,” Stephen Clair first came to prominence when the late Rita Houston (WFUV) added “Jen In Her Underwear”to regular rotation, putting Clair not only on the map, but the road.
He makes honesty sound catchy. He’s an instinctive and open-hearted writer who has no shortage of accolades—and has shared stages with James McMurtry, Ellis Paul, Jon Langford, Paul Thorn, and Robert Earl Keen. Performing Songwriter says he’s "the citified troubadour the roots songwriting world needs.”
Just a few short weeks ago, Stephen recently recorded a new album with Abbie Gardner on dobro and Sara Milonovich on violin. It’s just the three of them, and this album is already exquisite in its tenderness. The two songs we included in this application are from those sessions. We haven’t pinned a release date on this one yet, but we are very excited about it.
He just came off a Texas tour, a stop at Kerrville, a sold-out round at the Bluebird with pals Linda McRae and Jack Barksdale, topped off with an official showcase at SERFA.
